How We Serve

Mission and Ministries

We are involved in many mission and ministries with our local community and the world.  Below you will find information about just a few of our mission and ministries.  For more information please contact the church office at (509)758-7551.

Salvation Army
We help serve at the local Salvation Army the first Tuesday of every other month beginning in Feburary.

Asotin County Food Bank
We collect food and other items for the Asotin County Food Bank the first Sunday of the month.

We have a large church garden that we tend to with the produce going to the food bank.  During the 2011 season we donated over 2200 pounds of produce.  We met every Wednesday in the evening during the growing season to tend to the garden.

Partnership with Highland Elementary
We work in partnership with Highland Elementary throughout the school year.  Our members volunteer in the classroom reading to students and helping with homework.  The kindergarten and first-graders plant pumpkins in the spring and help harvest in the fall.  We give out food boxes for Christmas break and prepare sack lunches for spring break.

Washington State University Wesley Foundation
We support the United Methodist campus ministry at Washington State University.  Once a year their campus minister leads worship for Clarkston UMC.

General Board of Global Ministries (GBGM) Missionary Katherine Parker
We are in a covenant relationship with Katherine Parker.  Katherine serves as part of the Health Team of the United Mission to Nepal, focusing on water, sanitation, and hygiene.  You can follow Katherine at her blog.

Twinlow Camp and Retreat Center
Twinlow Camp is a United Methodist camp located on Lower Twin Lake near Rathdrum, ID.  Throughout the year groups from the church travel to Twinlow to help the camp in a variety of ways.  You can learn more about Twinlow at their website.

Lewiston-Clarkston Partners Habitat for Humanity®
Habitat for Humanity® is an important ministry of Clarkston UMC.  Since 1993 we have provided them office space and in 2011 Clarkston UMC  along with twelve other local UM congregations sponsored and built a home for Habitat partner family.  You can learn more about Habitat at their website.
